Metal Mummy's Movie Meme - Chick Flicks

So Metal Mummy's theme this week is Chick Flicks - slightly at odds with her mental metaller image, but what the hell.

Truth is I'm not really allowed to watch chick flicks in this house. They're just not cool enough for someone who, I'm constantly reminded, did Film Studies as his degree. (Wow)

Secretly though I think we all like a good fluffy film every so often to escape into. I've got two that I'm finding it hard to choose between - Sense and Sensibility

and Thelma and Louise

The first has a great cast, amazing performances, hidden emotions, unrequited love, and incredible costumes. The second has a young Brad Pitt, a semi-clothed Brad Pitt, and a cowboy Brad Pitt.

 Hmm which to choose...

I haven't watched either one in years so I'm going to have to remedy that so that I can make up my mind. For now though I'll have to hope that MM doesn't mind my doubling of the quota. And if she does -well  tough, I'll send Brad round in his stetson to have a word.

  1. I nearly said I don't mind...

...Until the prospect of a buff Brad Pitt in a stetson cropped up and now I want to say DAMMIT KATE I ASKED FOR ONE FILM! ONE FILM!

Go on... send Brad round to tell me off...

    hehe x

  3. They are both great films for such different reasons.
I wrote my dissertation on Thelma and Louise which meant I had to watch the semi clad cowboy Brad so many times - what a hardship lol this was the film where I discovered him and I have loved him ever since!

  4. How can I repay you for posting my childhood love sans shirt on a blog post on a Tuesday? Truth is I can't. But know that you have filled my heart and my loins with nothing but goodness this fine evening. Inappropriate but true.

  5. I think I smell a rental night...H is out of town...I'm lonely for a little cowboy action...

  6. It's hard not to be swayed by a semi-naked Brad (pre-Angelina, at least!) but my vote is for Sense and Sensibility here. Alan Rickman is brilliant here, as usual and I much prefer this film adaptation to the recent Pride & Prejudice (Firth as Darcy forever!) :D x

  8. Yeeha! Hot doggity! You can't beat a bit of hot Brad cowboy action. Yup, I'd have just gone with Thelma and Louise....Sense and Sensibility can bog off.

  13. Right, first off who said you and MM could keep the cowboy to yourselves? Share and share alike I say. Now that's off my chest, compliments on both choices my dear, each fab in their own way, but T&L really does have a great ending :D
