And this:
And this:
Those darn kiddies get their dirty mitts on whatever screens they happen to see lying around and before you know it this has happened:

And you're all like this:
My last phone went to it's watery grave via the route of back pocket toilet suicide. Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about - we've all been there.
Fortunately I have a solution now so no more cracked screens and bowls of rice in the airing cupboard for us.
OtterBox and LifeProof are two companies who have come up with ingenious solutions for protecting your devices against water, dirt, shock, snow and yes, even kids.
First up the iPad Defender case from OtterBox. With an inner shell, outer silicon layer and built-in screen protector you can rest assured your device is in safe hands (even when it isn't). The integrated shield stand acts as a protective cover on the front or the back and doubles as a kickstand for typing or viewing.
The kids and I have tried and tested this product over the past couple of weeks and I have to say I absolutely love it and would highly recommend it. At £69.99 it's not cheap but it's a lot less that replacing your precious iPad.
Next up is the LifeProof iPhone case (iPhone 5: £69.99 and iPhone 4: £59.99) which makes some pretty hefty claims. Not only can you drop it, take it hiking up snow cover mountains and drop it in the loo without panicking - you can actually go swimming with it.
Now I have to admit I'm still getting to grips with this one -I find the protective screen a little annoying and recharging is a bit fiddly - and to be 100% honest I haven't actually had the nerve to throw my precious phone in a bucket of water...but as every single case is test prior to sale I'm sure it does work (just not throw-it-in-a-bucket-of-water-on-purpose sure).
Anyway - I'm going to persevere with it, can you imagine how annoying it would be to take it off and then see it fall down the toilet?
Who know's I might get brave and take it swimming next time....
