As the three kids sat in the back of the car singing along to David Bowie's Hunky Dory, the six year old said the words that were like, well, music to my ears.
'Mum, I think David Bowie is better than One Direction'.
The clouds parted, the sun shone, the angels sang and all was right with the world.
Until the 8 year old slapped him - 'How dare you!'
Anyway it got me to thinking - what else has he got to look forward to discovering is better than One Direction.....
Here's my Top 5:
1. That perfect Summer of coming of age, when the sun doesn't stop shining, you're young and free and full of life and hope, and Ireland wins the World Cup. Oh, hang on a second...

2. Driving a car on your own for the first time. My 'first time' was in my mother's baby blue VW Beetle blaring EMF from the tinny speakers. 'Unbelievable'.

3. Popping into the pub for a sneaky pint and ending up on afternoon session that lasts til closing.
4. Falling in love.
5. Your baby falling asleep in your arms with one chubby hand on your bare chest and a tiny smile on their tiny face. Priceless.
So, what are the Top 5 things you'd like your child to know are better than One Direction?
